Thomas always makes highly adventurous musical selections when we choose songs to work on in lessons. This is no exception. This last event had a bit of everything: a marimba adaptation of a pop song, some jazz piano trio performance, and a 1980’s metal anthem, Van Halen’s Hot for Teacher. Anyone who is familiar with this track knows that the double bass drum shuffle runs throughout the entire track, and requires a LOT of concentration, especially so during the opening drum intro.
Thomas does a great job with this!
